Coryell papers, Vol. 2, p. 18. Historical Society of Pennsylvania. William Strickland's January 3, 1828 request for a quotation on lumber for the Naval Asylum roof is annotated with Coryell's calculations,and is bound with an earlier bid solicitation.

Coryell papers, Vol 2., p. 19, Historical Society of Philadelphia. William Strckland advises Coryell that his bid has arrived too late and that the contract has gone to "one of your brother chips."
